Dr. David Shao
Chief Business Officer
Dr. David Shao has served as the Chief Business Officer since September 2024. Prior to his current role, Dr. Shao served as Director, President and Chief Executive Officer of Yisheng Biopharma (the predecessor of LakeShore Biopharma) from February 2018 to August 2024, and had served as its Chief Financial Officer and Head of Global Business since October 2010. In addition, from January 2007 to October 2010, Dr. Shao was Senior Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Axing Pharmaceutical Company, Inc., where he was responsible for preparing financial statements in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles ("GAAP") and the relevant rules and regulations of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission ("SEC"). From 2005 to 2007, he served as Senior Biotechnology Analyst at Kamting Street Capital Management in New York. From 2003 to 2005, he was a Healthcare Analyst at Mehta Partners in New York. Prior to that, Dr. Shao spent five years as Principal Scientist at Roche Pharmaceuticals in the United States.
Dr. Shao received his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Science and Technology of China in 1991, his Ph.D. in Bioorganic Chemistry from the University of California, San Diego in 1996, and his Master of Science in Finance and Accounting from the NYU Stern School of Business in 2003. In addition, Dr. Shao is a Chartered Financial Analyst ("CFA") charterholder and holds a professional qualification certificate issued by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants ("AICPA").
